The deceased, identified as Sahas Ashpak Masali from Karnataka’s Bijapur district, was reportedly sitting on rocks near the shoreline when rough sea conditions triggered a series of powerful waves. One of the waves swept him into the water, and he was subsequently carried away by strong currents despite immediate attempts to locate him. A search and rescue operation was launched soon after the incident. Rescue personnel searched for several hours before recovering Masali’s body from the shoreline. Meanwhile, a video believed to show the incident has gone viral on social media, highlighting the risks of venturing onto rocky coastal stretches in rough weather.
