(Source: Reuters) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday thanked his Armenian counterpart, Nikol Pashinyan, for facilitating the evacuation of Indian nationals stranded in Iran amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia during a telephone conversation between the two leaders. During the telephonic conversation, the two leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the growing partnership between India and Armenia across a range of sectors. Pashinyan, in turn, congratulated Modi on becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history and wished him continued success in India’s development and welfare. In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said, “Earlier today, I was delighted to receive a phone call from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Congratulated him and his party on their victory in the recently held Parliamentary elections in Armenia. Thanked him for facilitating the evacuation of Indian nationals stranded in Iran following the recent developments in West Asia." The two leaders underscored the importance of continuously expanding the friendly ties between India and Armenia and expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation. They stressed the importance of organising high-level mutual visits to inject fresh momentum into bilateral ties and launch new initiatives.
