A fresh debate has started in West Bengal over school mid-day meals. TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh has expressed concern that eggs may be removed from the menu if the responsibility of preparing meals is handed over to ISKCON. According to Kunal Ghosh, eggs are an important part of children's nutrition and are also popular among students.
He said that if a religious organization prepares the meals, the menu may become completely vegetarian, leading to the removal of eggs. While praising ISKCON as a respected organization, Ghosh urged the government to reconsider any decision that could affect children's nutrition and food choices.
