A civil engineer was allegedly assaulted by occupants of a Mahindra Thar SUV following a road rage dispute in Gurugram’s Sector 71 on Monday morning. The incident took place outside a residential society when the engineer was returning home on his scooter after completing his night shift. According to police complaint, an argument broke out over giving way on a narrow stretch of road, which later escalated into a physical assault.
A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media, reportedly showing the assault taking place outside the society premises. He told police that the incident occurred around 7:15 am outside Signature Andour Heights when a black Thar with Himachal Pradesh registration number allegedly blocked the road, Punjab Newsline reported.
Dharmendra said that a verbal altercation broke out after both sides disagreed over who should give way. The situation soon escalated, and the occupants of the SUV allegedly dragged him out of his scooter and beat him. He further claimed that he repeatedly called for help while being assaulted, after which the accused fled the spot. According to reports, society security guards and local residents rushed to the spot after hearing his cries and rescued him. He was then taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed injuries to his head and a fracture in his neck bone. His condition is stated to be stable and out of danger. Based on the complaint filed at Badshahpur Police Station, police have initiated an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the accused involved in the attack.
