Hubballi-Dharwad Central MLA Mahesh Tenginakai has said that there has been large-scale corruption in the Gruha Lakshmi scheme and to cover it up, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is now talking of review of beneficiaries. Tenginakai was speaking to presspersons in Hubballi on Wednesday before participating in various programmes, including voluntary blood donation camp, organised to mark his birthday.
Tenginakai said that previously they exposed irregularities in the implementation of Gruha Lakshmi scheme and the then Siddaramaiah-led government tried to cover it up. “Now, both the Chief Minister and the Minister concerned have changed. Whom should people ask?,” Mr. Tenginakai sought to know. Stating that Mr. Shivakumar is trying to cover up the issue through review of beneficiaries, he said that they will raise the issue in the forthcoming Legislature Session.
On Priyank Kharge’s letter to RSS, Mr. Tenginakai said that Mr. Kharge should first try to understand what the RSS is and how it functions. Kharge’s remark is unnecessarily creating problems in Karnataka, he said and added that if Mr. Kharge really wants to know about the RSS, he should visit a Shakha of the Sangh.
Even a one-hour visit will help him know how it works, he said.
