‘Allegations Not Concrete’: Lawyer Says Chetan Implicated In Ketan's Murder For Being Siya’s Boyfriend Published By, Last Updated: June 24, 2026, 20:14 IST Chetan Chaudhary's lawyer claims his client was implicated solely because he was in a relationship with prime accused Siya Goyal. Rapid Read Investigators allege that while Siya's family was aware of her relationship with Chetan, they did not approve of the match. The defence counsel representing Chetan Chaudhary has claimed there is no concrete evidence linking his client to the murder of Pune businessman Ketan Vishal Agrawal, arguing that the 22-year-old has been implicated merely because he was in a relationship with prime accused Siya Goyal. Advocate Ram Shahane told PTI that the allegations against Chaudhary were “not concrete in nature" and contended that the FIR does not clearly spell out his role in the case.
“If we look at the FIR, the allegations against him are not concrete. His role is not described. It is only said that he is (Siya’s) boyfriend. He has been implicated in this case," Shahane said. The remarks came days after police arrested Goyal, 20, and Chaudhary in connection with Agrawal’s death at Lohagad Fort in Lonavala on June 18. What was initially treated as an accidental fall later turned into a murder investigation after investigators pieced together evidence that, according to police, pointed to a premeditated plot. Police have cited CCTV footage from the foothills of the fort, call records and the movements of the accused before the incident as key elements of their investigation. Investigators said Chaudhary had allegedly reached the fort before Goyal and Agrawal arrived there.
A crucial breakthrough came when police reviewed footage from the base of the fort and spotted a man allegedly identified as Chaudhary wearing a hoodie despite temperatures touching 33 degrees Celsius that morning. Investigators have further alleged that Chaudhary attempted to avoid detection by leaving his mobile phone at his Kondhwa residence instead of carrying it to the fort. Police also cited more than 2,000 phone calls exchanged between Goyal and Chaudhary as part of the evidence collected during the probe. According to police, both accused later confessed during questioning. A court has remanded Goyal and Chaudhary to seven days of police custody as investigators continue to probe the alleged murder conspiracy.
