Treesa and Gayatri looked in complete control during the opening game, surging to an 8-3 lead and dictating the pace of the contest. Although the Spaniards briefly narrowed the deficit with a flurry of points, the Indians quickly regained command and closed out the game comfortably. The momentum shifted in the second game as Paula and Lucia raised their level. The Spanish pair established an early advantage and maintained their grip despite a late push from the Indians, forcing the match into a deciding game. In the decider, Treesa and Gayatri once again asserted their authority. They built a healthy lead at the mid-game interval and never allowed their opponents back into the contest, wrapping up the victory with a dominant finish. The Indian pair will now face Japan’s Sumire Nakade and Miyu Takahashi for a place in the quarter-finals.
