According to the report, Sai Krishna’s mother told investigators that she heard her son’s cries from inside the police station after he was taken into custody. She reportedly pleaded with the then-Krishna Lanka Circle Inspector (CI) to release him. However, the accused officer allegedly threatened her, stating that he would “do away" with her son.

The report further states that the mother later witnessed Sai Krishna in an unconscious state inside the police station with his legs tied, alleging that he was being brutally assaulted by the accused officer. Unlawful Detention and Prima Facie Evidence The investigation has revealed that Sai Krishna was held in police custody beyond the legally permitted period and was not produced before a magistrate as required by law. Investigators noted that this prolonged, unlawful detention raises serious concerns regarding the circumstances leading to his death. The remand report concludes that a “strong prima facie inference" arises that Sai Krishna sustained fatal injuries while in police custody and subsequently succumbed to them while under the custody of the accused. Corroborating this timeline, a sub-inspector posted at the Krishna Lanka Police Station reportedly told investigators that he saw Sai Krishna inside the station between May 6 and May 8, the period during which the deceased was allegedly being held.

Defying High Court Orders and Disposal of Body The remand report also highlights that Sai Krishna’s mother had approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking protection for her son. Despite explicit orders from the High Court directing the police to produce Sai Krishna, authorities informed the court that his whereabouts were unknown. Officials pointed out that Sai Krishna’s body has still not been traced, and several crucial aspects of the case remain under active investigation. The report states that the circumstances prima facie indicate the body was concealed, buried, or clandestinely disposed of with the explicit intention of destroying evidence and shielding the offenders from legal punishment. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has informed the court that efforts are ongoing to locate the victim’s body and uncover the full sequence of events surrounding the alleged custodial death and subsequent disposal.
