Ketan’s Father Weighs In Adding another layer to the story is an account provided by Ketan’s father, Anil Agarwal, who has challenged suggestions that the marriage was pushed through solely from his family’s side. Agarwal said his family had initially rejected the marriage proposal because Ketan was not ready to marry at the time and Siya, they felt, was too young. According to him, it was Siya’s family that repeatedly approached them and persuaded them to reconsider. “We had declined the proposal initially. Her family kept requesting us and eventually we agreed," Agarwal said. “We had known Goyal’s family for 35-40 years. We never imagined something like this could happen."
