(Source: X) A road adjoining the United States Consulate in Hyderabad has been renamed ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ during celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence. The Telangana government said the move was a tribute to the United States and reflected Hyderabad’s growing role in the India-US strategic partnership. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka unveiled the plaque renaming the road during the Freedom 250 celebrations in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The road, formerly known as US Consulate Road in the Financial District at Nanakramguda, was officially renamed ‘Donald Trump Avenue’. According to the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, the road’s renaming honours the United States while recognising Hyderabad’s growing significance as a centre for India-US cooperation, particularly in the technology, aerospace and defence sectors.

From HITEC City to aerospace and defence, this region represents progress that is defining US-India bilateral momentum," he said. Thanking the Telangana government for the gesture, Gor said the decision to name the road after US President Donald Trump reflected the “strong, respectful partnership" championed by the American leader. He also referred to the proposed interim trade agreement and the Mission India initiative, saying the two measures were expected to generate more than USD 20 billion in fresh investment for the United States. Speaking at the gala reception, Gor highlighted the relationship between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
