The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister delivered a speech in the state assembly, recreating a viral hand gesture made by the predecessor to mock the opposition
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister delivered a speech in the state assembly, recreating a viral hand gesture made by the predecessor to mock the opposition. During the address, the chief minister defended the ruling party against critics who labelled it an actor's outfit, highlighting its thirty-five percent vote share. The chief minister accused the previous government of diverting liquor revenue to party funds, prompting a walkout by opposition members.
Promising corruption-free governance, the leader of the house vowed to strengthen law and order, stating that crime did not begin on May 10 when the new government assumed power. In response, the Leader of the Opposition demanded proof for the corruption allegations and accused the chief minister of dodging key questions. The opposition leader retaliated by stating the chief minister appeared to have come straight from a shooting spot, effectively turning the assembly into a cinema theatre.
