(Photo: X) Around 12 days before Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered, he was set to travel to Bali with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, for a pre-wedding photoshoot. But the trip was abruptly cancelled after Ketan’s passport went missing. Less than two weeks later, Ketan was allegedly pushed to his death from Lohagad Fort near Pune by Siya and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary. “They were leaving for Bali on June 6. Four people were travelling together, but only Ketan’s passport got stolen. Because of that, he had to return from the airport. We did not take it seriously then as to how only Ketan’s passport got stolen," Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, said.
Police have alleged that Siya deliberately hid Ketan’s passport to avoid travelling with him. “In our probe, it has come to light that Siya hid Ketan’s passport to avoid going to Bali with him," Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said. Siya-Ketan Weren’t A Love Story Two Alleged Murder Attempts After Bali Trip Cancellation According to police, the first attempt on Ketan’s life came on June 14, when Siya and Ketan went trekking at Lohagad Fort. Ketan’s father has alleged that Siya pushed him, but he managed to survive by holding onto a tree. Siya later claimed she had seen a snake and pushed him accidentally. Four days later, on June 18, a day before Siya’s birthday, the couple returned to Lohagad Fort. Police allege that Siya and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, pushed Ketan into a 400-foot-deep gorge and tried to pass off the death as an accident.
Siya informed authorities that Ketan had slipped while taking photographs and fallen into the gorge. Following a complaint by the family, police examined witness statements, technical evidence and information gathered from confidential sources. Pune Rural Police Superintendent Sandeep Singh Gill said the probe revealed that Siya and Chetan, who had known each other for about a year, had conspired to kill Ketan. “On June 18, 2026, Siya Goyal informed police that Ketan Agarwal had slipped and fallen from Lohagad Fort. Subsequent inquiries and information gathered from relatives and friends raised suspicions. Through confidential sources, witness statements and technical evidence, it was revealed that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had conspired to execute the plan. They pushed Ketan Agarwal, causing him to fall to his death," Gill said. A murder case has been registered at Lonavala Rural Police Station.
