Not An 'Accidental Fall': Cops Say Pune Man Pushed To Death From Lohagad Fort By Fiancée, Lover Published By, Last Updated: June 23, 2026, 15:57 IST Siya had allegedly made an earlier attempt to kill Ketan during a trek to Lohagad Fort on May 31, but the plan was unsuccessful. Siya (left) and Ketan (right) were scheduled to get married in a lavish ceremony in Jaipur next month. The death of young businessman Ketan Agarwal in Pune, initially believed to be an accident, has taken a dramatic turn after police alleged that he was murdered by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, with the help of her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. According to the Lonavala Rural Police, Ketan and Siya, who got engaged in February, had gone trekking at Lohagad Fort on June 18 to celebrate Siya’s birthday.
Around 10.30 am, Siya informed authorities that Ketan had slipped while taking photographs and fallen into a deep gorge, resulting in his death. However, investigators later concluded that the incident was not an accident but a premeditated murder. The couple was scheduled to get married in a lavish ceremony in Udaipur in November. Their families had reportedly booked a luxury palace for Rs 17 crore in Jaipur and arranged two private aircraft to transport wedding guests. Police said the investigation revealed that Siya was opposed to marrying Ketan and allegedly conspired with Chetan Chaudhary, with whom she had been acquainted for around a year. Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said that based on confidential inputs, witness statements and technical evidence, investigators concluded that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had planned the crime.
“On June 18, 2026, Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal, who got engaged in February, went to Lohagad Fort for trekking. Around 10:30–10:45 am, Siya Goyal informed by phone that Ketan Agarwal had slipped and fallen from the fort and died," Gill said. “Based on confidential sources, witness statements and technical evidence, police found that Siya Goyal and her friend Chetan Chaudhary, who knew each other for about a year, allegedly planned the incident. It is believed they pushed Ketan Agarwal from Lohagad Fort, causing his death," he added. According to a report by India Today, Siya had allegedly made an earlier attempt to kill Ketan during a trek to Lohagad Fort on May 31, but the plan was unsuccessful.
