Marking the 93rd birth anniversary of former chairperson (late) Hari Shankar Singhania, JK Tyre and Industries Limited organised a voluntary blood donation camp in Mysuru recently. The camp was conducted in association with the Lions Blood Centre – Jeevadhara, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), at the company’s three manufacturing plants, and its guest house.
V. Eswara Rao, Vice-President (Works) at JK Tyre, was among the first to donate blood following the inauguration of the camp. He said the company had mobilised more than 1,300 units of blood during this year’s drive, following contribution of 1,358 units in 2025.
“Through our partnership with Jeevadhara, we are able to ensure timely access to blood for employees and the public during medical emergencies, irrespective of blood group,” Mr Rao said. He emphasised that voluntary blood donation saves lives. He urged people to dispel misconceptions about its impact on health.
Utsav Agarwal, chairperson of CII Mysuru Chapter, was among those present.
