An iconic Hong Kong dim sum restaurant is offering customers a new experience – sipping morning tea and eating dim sum while watching the World Cup match live. The time difference between Hong Kong and this year’s World Cup matches means that many of the fixtures take place overnight by the local clock. Going out to eat dim sum is traditional in Hong Kong from early morning to lunchtime.
The menu of small dishes normally includes prawn and pork dumplings, chicken’s feet in black bean sauce, roast pork buns, rice flour rolls, and lots of other snacks. In Cantonese this early morning, brunch or lunch ritual is called “yum cha”, which literally means “drink tea”, as most tables have multiple small cups of tea.
