The iPhone 18 Pro series is likely to launch soon as Apple has a track record of announcing new iPhones in September every year. Now, since we are just two months away from the widely rumoured iPhone event, you are more likely to start seeing leaks on iPhone 18 Pro launch dates as well as prices. While previous reports had suggested that Apple will keep the prices same as the old models, Tim Cook's recent statement changes everything after he said price increases are unavoidable going forward. The obvious reason for this is memory and storage chip getting costlier because of AI but for core iPhone buyers what matters is how much the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Max models will cost in countries India as well as US. So far, there is no leak on the exact prices of the next-gen iPhones, but India Today Tech spoke to two credible analyst to give our audience a rough idea of what to expect in terms of iPhone 18 pricing. Read Full Story Apple has kept the same launch prices for years without increasing the prices for the standard iPhone models and the Pro model prices keep fluctuating with every release.
Now, with rising component cost issue, Apple is likely preparing to launch the 18 Pro at higher prices. IDC India's Vice President, Navkendar Singh, told India Today Tech that Apple will increase prices across multiple iPhone generations over the coming months. More importantly for buyers waiting for the next flagship, he expects a noticeable increase for the new 18 Pro models. "There will possibly be a $100-$150 (approximately Rs 9,500 to Rs 14,200) increase in iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max pricing versus iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max launch prices. The memory situation will impact the launch prices of the 18 Pro and Pro Max." If that prediction proves accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro could start above the iPhone 17 Pro's launch price of Rs 1,34,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could move well beyond the Rs 1,49,900 mark. Interestingly, earlier analyst reports had suggested Apple might avoid a major increase despite expected hardware upgrades. But Cook's recent comments about rising costs have changed the conversation. With memory prices climbing sharply and manufacturing becoming more expensive, analysts now believe some level of price increase is difficult to avoid.
iPhone 18 Pro base model may see smaller price hike, higher variants to get costlier For Indian consumers, the key question is whether Apple chooses a decent increase to protect sales volumes or passes on a larger share of the additional costs. Counterpoint's Research Director, Tarun Pathak, told India Today Tech that Apple faces an important challenge in estimating festive-season demand while also factoring in any upcoming pricing changes. "The bigger question for Apple is to estimate the demand for the upcoming festive season and how it will split the same across channels while baking in any possible price hikes. Driving that strategy sitting on a leaner inventory makes more sense as demand is likely to be pushed out now towards Q3 and Q4." He also pointed to rising memory prices and currency fluctuations as major concerns. "Since memory prices have increased 4x over the past three quarters and falling rupee against dollar, it is highly unlikely that any brand can absorb those costs; therefore, there is a high probability that this will be reflected in the pricing of the Apple iPhone 18 series." However, Pathak believes Apple may try to protect the entry point of the Pro lineup when it comes to pricing.
