(Representative Image) A woman and her boyfriend allegedly murdered her parents and younger sister at an apartment in Dhamnik Layout, Seegehalli, on Monday night before fleeing the scene. The deceased have been identified as Somasundar (55), Muthulakshmi (48) and Supriya (20).
The accused are Shwetha, the deceased couple’s daughter, and her boyfriend Kenneth. Shwetha and Kenneth were reportedly in a live-in relationship that her family opposed. Her parents had come to counsel her and take her back home. An argument allegedly broke out during the visit, turning violent. All three were stabbed in the altercation. Muthulakshmi and Supriya collapsed inside the house and died at the scene. Somasundar, despite being grievously injured, managed to stagger out of the apartment. Local residents alerted police by calling 112. When Hoysala personnel arrived, they found Somasundar lying in a pool of blood on the staircase and rushed him to hospital.
Before succumbing to his injuries, Somasundar told police that his wife and younger daughter were inside the house and that his elder daughter and her boyfriend had stabbed them. He also told them that Shwetha had been living with Kenneth and that the family had come to dissuade her. KR Puram police visited the spot and launched an investigation. The bodies were shifted to East Point Hospital. Shwetha and Kenneth had fled by the time police arrived. A special team has since been formed and a search operation is underway to trace and arrest the accused.
