Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay addressed the State Assembly, reflecting on his political journey and the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's (TVK) electoral victory. He expressed gratitude to the voters of Perambur and Trichy East constituencies for their support. Tracing his path from an actor to a political leader, Vijay highlighted his early social initiatives, including the 2008 hunger strike for Eelam Tamils, support for the 2017 Jallikattu protests, and meeting victims of the Sterlite incident.
He outlined TVK's ideological foundation, drawing from leaders like Periyar, Kamarajar, and Ambedkar, while affirming the party's belief in God and secularism. Discussing the 2026 elections, he stated, 'In twenty twenty-six, without any alliance, we stood alone.' He noted that TVK secured over 30 percent of the vote share and 1.72 crore votes to become the ruling party. Vijay also acknowledged the challenges faced over the past two years, specifically mentioning the tragic loss of 41 lives in Karur, and reiterated his commitment to the people of Tamil Nadu.
