The newly formed Tamil Nadu government presented its 40-day progress report in the state assembly, highlighting key welfare and anti-corruption measures. The administration announced the provision of free electricity up to 200 units and the closure of 717 liquor shops located near educational institutions, places of worship, and bus stands. Additionally, the government has revamped the neglected Amma Canteens and initiated steps to curb corruption in the registration department, tender allocations, and government transfers.
The assembly address also detailed the revival of the Jal Jeevan Mission and new industrial investments, including an electronics manufacturing project in Coimbatore and the expansion of the L&T shipyard in Tiruvallur. To address ongoing power cuts attributed to the previous administration's mismanagement, the government has deployed 125 patrol vehicles and formed ten high-level committees to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
The administration emphasized its commitment to transparent governance, asserting that it will focus on public welfare rather than engaging in systemic corruption.
