Both worked at the same animation studio housed in the Lucknow building and were reportedly close friends. Just a day after the Lucknow blaze, the KDA launched a special inspection drive across Kakadeo, one of the city’s biggest coaching hubs. Officials inspected institutes for compliance with building rules, fire safety requirements and other regulations. During the drive, 22 coaching institutes, including Physics Wallah, Workspace, Mahendraraj and Sanjeev Rathore Chemistry, were sealed.' Officials said more hubs would be inspected, and further action would follow if violations were found.
However, residents questioned why such inspections were not carried out regularly and alleged that authorities often act only after a major tragedy. They said strict monitoring and timely action could prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of students and workers. KANPUR ANIMATORS DIE, FAMILIES RAISE QUESTIONS The deaths of Sanyam Vij and Suraj Bhan Singh left both families devastated. According to relatives, Sanyam’s family was already grieving the recent death of his grandmother. Instead of returning home, the family received news of his death.
Family members said he was doing well professionally and marriage discussions were also underway. Suraj Bhan Singh’s family also suffered a major loss. His father had died earlier, and Suraj was living in Lucknow for work while regularly visiting his family in Kanpur. Relatives of Sanyam alleged that automatic sensor gates at the building where he worked failed during the fire, making escape difficult. They claimed several people struggled to get out and died due to suffocation. Ends
