Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (File Photo/ANI) The Uttar Pradesh government is intensifying efforts to equip teachers with the skills needed to effectively implement the NIPUN Bharat Mission at the grassroots level. As part of this initiative, the second phase of a five-day state-level training programme for district master trainers began on Monday, focusing on enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy among students from Classes 1 to 5. The state-level programme is training selected members of the SRG and DIET mentors from participating districts.
The trained master trainers will go on to conduct capacity-building sessions at the district and block levels, enabling innovative teaching practices, learning enhancement techniques and key principles of the NIPUN Bharat Mission to reach lakhs of teachers across Uttar Pradesh. The ongoing programme marks the second phase of the state’s teacher training drive under the mission, following the successful completion of the first phase from May 16 to 20. Two more rounds of training for district-level master trainers are planned, with the aim of creating a comprehensive academic support and training network across the state. The current batch includes representatives from 20 districts of the state. Each participating district has nominated two SRG members and two DIET mentors for the programme. These trained master trainers will later be responsible for conducting training sessions at district and block levels, ensuring the effective dissemination of NIPUN Bharat Mission strategies and pedagogical practices to schools.
The primary objective of the training is to ensure effective classroom implementation of foundational language and numeracy competencies. The training programme has been structured to be interactive and hands-on, with a strong emphasis on practical learning. It includes demonstrations, reflective exercises, peer-to-peer learning, group discussions and activities focused on classroom implementation. The objective is to ensure that the knowledge and teaching skills acquired during the sessions translate into improved classroom practices and lead to better learning outcomes for students.
