As per a direction of the Legal Services Authority and Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, a Lok Adalat will be organised on July 11 to dispose of cases pending in various courts in Dharwad district. Addressing presspersons in Dharwad on Monday, Principal District and Sessions Judge N.V. Vijay said that during the Lok Adalat, pre-litigation cases, those pending before courts and cases that can be settled through mediation will be taken up for disposal.
Vijay said that the State Government has through its order on June 4, 2026, announced a 50% waiver on pending traffic challans issued till May 2026. This apart, the same percentage of waiver has also been extended to cases registered by the Transport Department between 1991 and 2022, he said.
He said that the scheme will be available for 20 days till July 10 and appealed to the public to benefit from it and clear
their penalties. Member-Secretary of DLSA and Senior Civil Judge Allappa Badiger, Assistant Commissioner of Police Viresh and Regional Traffic Officer Sridhar Malnad were present.
