Mumbai: Logistics operator Delhivery on Monday announced comprehensive welfare programmes for its 1 lakh frontline workforce, offering them accidental insurance of up to Rs 15 lakh, family health cover, and children's scholarships, among other benefits.Noting that frontline, or gig, workers are a critical part of India's economy and among the most financially exposed, where a single hospitalisation can wipe out months of earnings, the company said the programme, Abhyam, addresses these through a comprehensive support framework.Also Read: Minimum wage, social security on the table as global gig work talks beginApart from accidental coverage, Abhyam includes health insurance, and income-loss protection, ensuring that an unforeseen incident on the road does not escalate into a financial crisis, Delhivery said.The programme extends benefits to families.
