The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam was yet to approach Congress party for its support in the Thattanchavady byelection, Member of Parliament and PPCC chief V. Vaithilingam
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam was yet to approach Congress party for its support in the Thattanchavady byelection, Member of Parliament and PPCC chief V. Vaithilingam has said. “They have not yet approached us for support. We will take a call when the situation arises,” he said to a question at a press conference held at the PPCC office on Monday.
To a question on the contradictory stands of AICC in-charge Girish Chodankar and the PPCC leadership on the six candidates who have contested against the nominees of alliance partners in the 2026 Assembly polls, the party chief said “AICC leadership wanted to take action earlier, but now they don’t want to proceed with disciplinary action,” he added. Adverting to other issues, the Congress leader said the education policy of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Democratic Alliance government was putting lot of stress on the students.
“We are not against NEET, but the lapses in conducting the entrance examination has caused mental stress and hardship to the students. The party was concerned about the huge economic burden on the parents because of the fees charged by the coaching centres,” he said The government should intervene to streamline the huge fees collected by the coaching centres.
Also, there should be some control over the exorbitant fees collected by CBSE schools for Class 11 admission. Private schools are not adhering to fee structure fixed by the Puducherry government, he said.
