A tragic fire mishap in Lucknow's Aliganj has claimed the lives of 14 people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and announced an e gratia of two lakh rupees for the families of the deceased and fifty thousand rupees for the injured from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. Rescue operations are actively underway, with the NDRF, local authorities, and fire tenders working at the site, where pets were also rescued alongside residents.
Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak confirmed seeing 14 bodies being moved out, while KGMU hospital reported six brought dead and several others admitted with severe injuries. In response to the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath halted his Aligarh visit to return to Lucknow and assured that strict action will be taken. Top officials, including ACS Home Sanjay Prasad, the Commissioner, and the DGP, have reached the spot to monitor the ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
