India is in talks with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to export its flagship defence systems, including the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, according to sources. The Gulf nation is stepping up arms procurement following the war in the Middle East. Both countries are in discussions over other military hardware, including the Akash surface-to-air missile and the AI-enabled Akash Tir air defence system.
These systems proved highly effective in neutralizing threats during Operation Sindoor in 2025. Other nations like the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia have also signed deals for the BrahMos missile, which travels at a speed of 2.8 Mach and has a range of about 300 kilometres.
