A devastating family tragedy took place in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, where a 30-year-old man allegedly poisoned his ailing wife and two young children before ending his own life, leaving behind a chilling message on a television screen that revealed the anguish consuming the family. The dead were identified as Damu, a construction supervisor, his wife Nirmala (25), son Dilip and daughter Srividya. Read Full Story According to police, the family's ordeal began when Nirmala was diagnosed with a severe brain-related illness. In a desperate bid to save her, the family consulted several specialists. But every visit brought the same crushing reality that her chances of recovery were extremely low.
As Nirmala's condition worsened, Damu is believed to have become increasingly distraught. Police suspect he could no longer bear watching his wife suffer and was haunted by what would happen to their children if she did not survive. HOUSE REMAINED LOCKED, NEIGHBOURS RAISED ALARM The tragedy is believed to have happened on Monday. Police suspect Damu poisoned food consumed by Nirmala and the two children before taking his own life by hanging. The horror remained hidden until the following morning, when neighbours noticed that the family's house had remained shut and unusually silent. Growing anxious, they alerted police.
When officers entered the home, they found all four family members dead. CHILLING MESSAGE WRITTEN ON TV What investigators discovered inside the house added another heartbreaking layer to the tragedy. Before ending his life, Damu allegedly wrote a final message directly on the television screen. In the note, he reportedly said that nobody should be blamed for the deaths. He also left his ATM card number, PIN and phone details, asking that the money in his account be used to perform the cremation rites for all four family members. The message painted the picture of a man who appeared to have resigned himself to what he saw as an impossible situation.
INVESTIGATION ON Police have registered a case and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination. While the initial investigation points to a murder-suicide linked to Nirmala's illness, officers are examining all aspects of the case and gathering further evidence. The deaths have sent shockwaves through the neighbourhood, with residents struggling to comprehend how a family battling a medical crisis met such a tragic end behind the doors of their locked home.
