During a party event in Bengaluru, the Congress chief reprimanded party workers who were chanting slogans in support of a state leader. The incident occurred at the Sankalp Samavesha program, where the party president criticized the workers for engaging in individual worship rather than focusing on the party. He warned of disciplinary action against the cadre and emphasized his extensive political experience of over five decades.
The state leader, for whom the slogans were being chanted, was present on stage and attempted to calm the supporters. A network reporter noted that such sloganeering highlights ongoing factionalism and individual worship within the state unit of the party. The party president reiterated that the gathering was a collective party program and not meant to celebrate any single individual, cautioning the workers against disrupting the event.
