A political dispute has emerged following the Eligibility cum Entrance Test in Bengaluru, where late arriving candidates missed the strict entry deadline. Visuals from a government college showed candidates scaling the main gate in an attempt to enter the examination centre after the deadline had passed, only to find the inner gates locked. Parents of the delayed candidates attributed the traffic congestion to a political rally held by the ruling state party on the same day.
The opposition party criticised the state government, alleging that political activities were prioritised over the welfare of the candidates. In response, the state government defended its position, stating that traffic advisories and alternative routes were issued well in advance. The state home minister clarified that the delayed candidates were travelling on a different route unaffected by the rally. The ruling state party dismissed the allegations as manufactured outrage and redirected attention to broader controversies surrounding the examination, including recent paper leak allegations.
