Earlier in the day, Spain cruised to a 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group H match at Atalanta Stadium on Sunday. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the 11th minute with his first goal of the tournament, while Mikel Oyarzabal answered his critics with a brace after his disappointing display against Cabo Verde.

Saudi Arabia’s Hassan Altambakti later scored an own goal to complete Spain’s dominant win. In Group G, Belgium were held to a goalless draw by Iran at Los Angeles Stadium on Monday, marking their second consecutive draw after also sharing points with Egypt. Belgium’s task became harder when Nathan Ngoy was sent off in the second half. Despite registering 23 shots, the Red Devils failed to score and remain winless with two points from two matches. The draw lifted Iran to the top of Group G, ahead of Belgium, while New Zealand and Egypt sit third and fourth with one point each from one game.
