The Shiv Sena UBT faces a significant split as rebel members of parliament switch allegiance to the rival Shinde camp. Addressing a rally in a rebel leader's hometown shortly after the crossover, the party chief dismissed rumors of a merger with the Congress, calling it a false narrative designed to weaken the party.
The leadership also targeted the BJP, claiming the party survives solely by poaching leaders from rivals. In response to statements from the ruling coalition claiming success under a strategic operation, the party leadership maintained that only one genuine party exists. A series of rallies has been planned across the home turf of the rebel members to directly appeal to the workers and voters.
