A tragic ammonia gas leak at a seafood exports and fisheries processing facility in Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu, has resulted in the deaths of at least two workers and left over sixty others injured. The affected individuals, primarily migrant workers, are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, with several reported to be in critical condition.
In response, a three-member panel has been established to investigate the incident, with a preliminary report expected within twenty-four hours. Additionally, a compensation of rupees two lakh has been announced for the families of the deceased, alongside instructions to monitor hazardous industries closely to prevent future occurrences.
