PM Modi released the latest installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from West Bengal. More than 2.17 crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh received financial assistance worth Rs 4,352.40 crore on Saturday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the latest installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from West Bengal. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the programme virtually from the Commissioner Auditorium in Jhansi and thanked the Prime Minister for the benefit extended to farmers across the state. As part of the nationwide disbursement, Prime Minister Modi transferred over Rs 18,880 crore to more than 9.44 crore farmers across the country under the PM-KISAN scheme.
Uttar Pradesh accounted for the largest share of beneficiaries, with more than 2.17 crore farmers receiving Rs4,352.40 crore directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Several public representatives, including MP Anurag Sharma, Minister of State Manohar Lal, MLA Jawahar Lal Rajput and Uttar Pradesh Cow Protection Commission Chairman Shyam Bihari Gupta, were present during the programme in Jhansi. In a post on X, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi on behalf of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. “The prosperity and well-being of farmers remain the highest priority of the double-engine government under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," the Chief Minister said. He noted that the financial assistance was not merely a monetary benefit but reflected the government’s commitment to the dignity, hard work and prosperity of farmers. “This amount is not merely financial assistance but a strong symbol of the government’s unwavering commitment to the hard work, dignity and prosperity of farmers," Yogi said.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. The amount is transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through DBT. Prime Minister Modi had launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana from Gorakhpur on February 24, 2019. ## Uttar Pradesh Farmers Receive Over Rs1 Lakh Crore Under PM-KISAN With the latest transfer of Rs4,352.40 crore, farmers in Uttar Pradesh have received a cumulative Rs1,03,391.24 crore under the PM-KISAN scheme since its launch. According to official figures, the yearly disbursement to farmers in the state has been 2018-19: Rs 2,238.92 crore 2019-20: Rs 11,006.87 crore 2020-21: Rs 14,432.14 crore 2021-22: Rs 15,775.52 crore 2022-23: Rs 12,454.32 crore 2023-24: Rs 13,808.48 crore 2024-25: Rs 15,594.74 crore 2025-26: Rs 13,727.85 crore 2026-27 (April-July): Rs 4,352.40 crore The total assistance provided to farmers in Uttar Pradesh under the scheme now stands at Rs1,03,391.24 crore, making the state one of the largest beneficiaries of the Centre’s flagship farmer welfare programme.
