Elon Musk is the world’s first trillionaire. Following the SpaceX IPO, Musk now has a net worth exceeding $1.2 trillion. But the tech trillionaire believes that in the future, there will be an abundance of resources for everyone. And that will likely be made possible because of robots and AI with Tesla playing a big role. On X, Elon Musk replied to a post making claims about the potential of humanoid robots. In the original post a user claimed that 5 million humanoid robots today were capable of rebuilding the city of Manhattan in 6 months. The person added, “Now just imagine what the world looks like when we have 10 billion of them by 2045. Now imagine the year 2100.” Read Full Story Musk, who has often talked about the role of humanoid robots in the future, seemingly agreed with the post.
He replied, “Amazing abundance for all!” The trillionaire was likely signalling that with more humanoid robots, humanity can have better living standards. Elon Musk believes that we will have amazing abundance in the future. Elon Musk’s comments came at a time when Tesla has reportedly filed for a trademark on the phrase “amazing abundance.” The filing points to a deeper push in Tesla's long-term strategy around AI and humanoid robots. It is possible that the company uses this phrase in promotional material for its Optimus robot, as it shifts more focus towards robots instead of electric vehicles (EVs). Amazing abundance as AI takes jobs Tesla has been working on the Optimus humanoid robot for some time now, that can potentially help automate production, as well as do things for you. And this, Musk believes, may bring a new era of abundance for humanity.
Recently Musk hinted that money may matter less in the future, thanks to robots. At the 2026 Abundance Summit, he said, "We're going to have universal high income. We'll basically just issue money to people. AI and robots are going to make so much stuff and provide so many services that they'll run out of things to do for humans." Elon Musk added, "Money will stop being relevant at some point in the future." Musk's prediction largely focuses on how AI can create an age of abundance in which machines produce goods and services at such a scale that they become far cheaper and easier to access. And in turn, humans receive a universal high income that allows everyone to have a high standard of living. Though it is unclear how such an income will be achieved for everyone.
