The Testing Agency is conducting the NEET UG re-examination today, with strict timings enforcing a 1:30 PM deadline for entry and the test scheduled from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. This re-examination follows widespread allegations of paper leaks and systemic irregularities during the initial test. The controversy sparked significant political debate, with opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal demanding accountability.
Gandhi called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and raised concerns over a candidate receiving an exam centre in Abu Dhabi. The Testing Agency countered this claim, stating the candidate had specifically applied for that location. The government and the testing agency have assured students of system-level reforms to prevent future lapses, noting the suspension of 122 Telegram channels linked to malpractices.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also issued an apology as the administration commits to a zero-tolerance policy against examination fraud.
