Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Saturday urged the civil society to form online citizens’ forums to question abuse of law and order, if any, in the State. Addressing a gathering during ‘Mana Vooru; Maata-Manthi’, an interaction with the citizens, here, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “I will directly share my opinion on the law and order in the State with the people. I won’t share the same even with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and MPs of the Jana Sena Party are expected to raise their voice against abuse of law and order.” “Law and order is not under my jurisdiction. However, I will continue to speak on it with the civil society.
I cannot be a part of convenient politics, and I prefer selective response to any incident or case that involves violation of law or order. I firmly believe that votes won’t be lost if we raise our genuine voice for the harmony, maintenance of law and order,” he observed. Reacting to caste politics, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “I am striving to serve the nation and no force can cage me in the caste cycle.” On the YSRCP’s attempts to link various incidents to castes, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he would fight against criminals, irrespective of success or failure in politics. “It is my firm belief that criminals should not be elected to power and dictate society.
Such a verdict by the people will be a threat to the future. Playing caste card is the strength of criminals to gain power,” he said. On the reported rise in the number of fake cases in violation of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Mr. Pawan Kalyan appealed to the Home Department to discuss with the Chief Minister the possibility of bringing out a State-level policy to prevent the violation and registration of fake cases. Aid to farmers Prior to addressing the gathering, Mr. Pawan Kalyan released ₹99.58 crore financial assistance to 2.73 lakh farmers of Kakinada district under the first instalment of the Annadata Sukhibhava - PM Kisan scheme for 2026-27 financial year.
He also handed over a cheque for ₹75.52 lakh to the fisherfolk towards compensation for the damage caused to the 29 fishing boats due to the designs of the Ameenabad fishing harbour. He also promised ₹80 crore for the completion and commissioning of the harbour on the Uppada coast. Later, he distributed fishing boat engines worth ₹1.42 crore to 100 fisherfolk. Aurobindo Group and Divis Laboratories Limited donated ₹4.5 crore each under their CSR activity for the ₹9 crore alternative livelihood programme in Pithapuram constituency.
