Shivamogga A five-year-old female leopard that chased a dog into a house toilet at Hunasekatte village in Tarikere Range was successfully rescued on Saturday after being sedated.
The animal entered the toilet room while pursuing the dog. Residents, alerted to the intruder, immediately closed the toilet doors and informed Forest Department officials from Bhadravathi Division.
A team led by Sharan Singh Rathore, veterinary officer at Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari (Shivamogga Zoo), immobilised the leopard using sedation. The veterinary team then administered a reversal drug to bring the animal out of sedation.
The officials would release the animal to the forest area.
