"Explore Gyan" and "UKUL" are not the names of brands or social media channels. They are among the candidates who have found a place in the provisional merit list released by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) for recruiting drivers. However, little is known about who these candidates are, triggering questions from fellow aspirants and social media users. Copies of the merit list have since been widely shared across social media platforms.

Based on the results, the provisional merit list of candidates eligible for the technical vehicle driving test was published on the commission's website on June 19. Some names in the list have particularly drawn public attention. Among them are candidates listed as "Explore Gyan" and "UKUL". Their fathers' names have also been mentioned in the list, prompting a debate on social media over whether such names appearing in an official government recruitment merit list are normal.
Several candidates and users suspected that the issue could be the result of a data-entry error. Others raised questions about the document verification process and data-scrutiny mechanisms followed during recruitment. As the controversy grew, the commission issued a clarification. According to UKSSSC, the names appearing in the merit list are exactly as entered by the candidates in their application forms. The commission said the responsibility for the information provided in the application rests entirely with the candidates.
The commission further stated that if any incorrect information or discrepancy is detected during document verification, the candidature of the concerned applicant can be cancelled. It also clarified that, in serious cases, candidates may be barred from appearing in future recruitment examinations. Ends
