Thirty-two persons were arrested by the Cyberabad SHE Teams for indulging in indecent acts at public places during 133 decoy operations over the past week, said Women and Child Safety Wing officials. In its weekly review covering the period from June 12 to June 19, the Cyberabad Police said 29 petty cases were registered against the offenders, while the remaining individuals were counselled.
The SHE Teams also received 16 complaints from women through various channels during the period. The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued three victims and arrested six accused persons in three cases registered under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. In a separate Juvenile Justice Act case, the unit rescued four boys and apprehended three accused persons.
Police said family counselling centres and Centres for Domestic and Empowerment of Women (CDEW) helped reconcile 29 families involved in marital disputes during the week. As part of preventive policing efforts, the AHTU and SHE Teams conducted awareness programmes across the commissionerate, reaching 3,559 people. The sessions focused on issues such as human trafficking, child trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud.
Participants were also educated about emergency and support services, including the Women Helpline 181, Childline 1098, Dial 100 and the cybercrime helpline 1930.
