Mango farmers from Chittoor, Tirupati and Annamayya districts urged the State government to ensure transparency, strict monitoring and prompt payments under it’s intervention scheme for the current mango season. The farmers thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for announcing the subsidy and urged coordinated action by the line departments, industries and procurement agencies to protect growers’ interests. Submitting a memorandum to Chittoor district Collector Sumit Kumar here on Saturday, the farmers, led by Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham State vice-president A.
Ramanaidu, thanked the administration for taking their grievances to the notice of the State government and bringing in the intervention of the government in support of the mango growers affected by the price fluctuations. Speaking to the media on Saturday, Mr. Ramanaidu said that pulp industries in combined Chittoor district were currently offering ₹7 per kg for mangoes. He urged the Collector for the effective implementation of the ₹4-per-kg subsidy announced by the government.
“This arrangement should ensure that farmers receive a total of ₹11 per kg without delays or deductions,” he said. Chittoor district mango farmers’ association vice-president Bellamkonda Srinivasulu demanded a robust monitoring mechanism at mango procurement ramps and pulp factories, with proper registration of farmers’ details, recording of quantities supplied and payments made. “Officials should prevent irregularities in weighing, registration and disbursal of subsidy,” he said.
The delegation informed the Collector that several farmers who supplied mangoes in 2025 were yet to receive subsidies and other payments due to registration errors, technical glitches and administrative lapses. They sought immediate clearance of pending dues and safeguards against similar problems this season.
