According to initial information, the roof of the under-construction sabha mandap located in front of the temple suddenly collapsed while a large number of devotees were present at the premises.

Preliminary reports suggest that several devotees sustained serious injuries in the accident. However, the district administration has not yet officially confirmed the number of fatalities or injuries. Around 30 to 40 devotees are reportedly trapped under the debris, and rescue teams are carrying out an operation to pull them out.
Following the incident, officials from the district administration, police personnel and rescue teams rushed to the spot. Relief and rescue operations are underway on a war footing. Authorities have arranged a large number of ambulances to shift the injured to hospitals for treatment. The administration is closely monitoring the situation as efforts continue to clear the rubble and rescue those trapped.
