The Congress Working Committee member and former Pradesh Congress Committee President Gidugu Rudra Raju on Saturday (June 20, 2026) alleged that the Testing Agency (NTA) has been playing with the lives of children with its faulty decisions, such as allocation of examination centres to faraway places, other States and abroad. He said that a student from Nagpur of Maharashtra was allocated an examination centre in Abu Dhabi and many students suffered due to cross allocation centres.
Speaking to The Hindu in Vizianagaram on the eve of re-examination of NEET on June 21, 2026, Mr. Rudra Raju expressed concern over the suicides of 12 students in places like Coimbatore, Dehradun, Indore, New Delhi and other places. He demanded that at least ₹1 crore compensation be paid for each family, although the money would compensate and take back the lives of innocent children.
