US-IRAN DEAL LIVE | Iran Issues Ultimatum To Israel: Pull Out Of Lebanon Or War Resumes

In a dramatic escalation of diplomatic tensions, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that the newly brokered U.S.-Iran peace deal will not fully end the Middle East conflict unless Israel completely withdraws its forces from southern Lebanon. Speaking during a briefing to foreign diplomats in Tehran, Araghchi emphasized that ending the war in Lebanon is an 'inseparable part of complete end of the war,' warning that 'without the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they occupied during this war, the war has not fully come to an end'.
The digital signing of the landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Washington and Tehran—meant to halt the war that erupted on February 28, 2026—has exposed a massive rift between the United States and its closest ally, Israel. While Iranian officials insist that further Israeli military actions in Lebanon will be treated as a direct violation of the MoU, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defiantly stated that Israeli forces will remain in Lebanon 'as long as necessary'. Adding to the geopolitical storm, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at the G7 summit in Europe, criticized Netanyahu's military tactics as 'vicious' and urged him to behave 'more responsibly' in Lebanon, even suggesting Syria could manage Hezbollah more effectively.
As the two-phase peace framework moves forward—initially focusing on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and post-conflict reconstruction before addressing nuclear issues and sanctions relief—the absolute refusal of Israel to abide by the U.S.-Iran terms threatens to collapse the fragile truce and reignite all-out regional warfare.
