Sources told CNN-News18 that additional CCTV cameras have been installed for 24/7 monitoring of the arrangements across 97 exam centres in Delhi to provide heightened security to the premises. With barely a day left for the retest of NEET, the Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a dedicated portal for candidates and the public to report suspicious activities, fake paper leak claims, and impersonation attempts related to the examination.
The portal is accessible at innovateindia.mygov.in/neet-ug-2026 Through the newly launched reporting platform, candidates can flag dubious websites, social media posts, and individuals making fraudulent claims about access to exam content. NEET UG Re-Exam Live Updates Biometric Verification, Deployment Of CISF, CRPF Biometric verification for candidates, teachers, and staff present at the exam centres has been mandated. Under its multi-layered ‘Digi-Exam’ framework, the NTA has initiated an end-to-end identity hardening strategy. The framework allows stricter control not just for candidates, but also for over two lakh personnel deployed on the ground. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel will be deployed to guard examination centres, sources told CNN-News18, adding these central armed forces are being utilized in a two-layer security system, with focus on guarding the chain of custody and securing the testing locations. Extra 15 Minutes, Fresh Design Of Booklet The overall exam window has been extended from 180 minutes to 195 minutes (3 hours and 15 minutes) to “ensure that candidates can utilise the intended examination time without feeling that administrative processes are taking away from their opportunity to attempt the paper", according to the NTA.
Alongside the extra time, the NTA has altered the design of the question booklet based on past candidate feedback. The question booklet now features four pages for rough work instead of the usual two. Previously, all rough sheets were clustered at the very back. To make it easier for left-handed students, the NTA has repositioned two rough pages right at the beginning, while keeping the remaining two at the end. Free Bus Service For Candidates Multiple states, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Odisha, Uttarakhand, and Andhra Pradesh, have announced to offer travel support for NEET-UG candidates. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has also announced free bus travel for students on June 21. Students can avail the facility by presenting their admit card while travelling to and from their examination centres. Uttar Pradesh has announced a 50 per cent concession in bus fares for NEET-UG 2026 candidates travelling on Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses.
