Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao alleged that the State was being run as a ‘mafia regime’ rather than a government over the past two-and-a-half years. Addressing a BRS workers’ meeting of Malkajgiri constituency, KTR claimed that people across Telangana had become disillusioned with the Congress administration and asserted that whenever elections are held, voters would once again rally behind the BRS.
“The pink flag will fly high in Telangana,” he said, expressing confidence that the party would register victories in future elections, including local body polls in Malkajgiri and Cyberabad regions. Highlighting the achievements of the previous BRS government, he credited it with resolving chronic power shortages, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply, and implementing major initiatives such as Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya.
He alleged that despite substantial borrowings by the Congress government over the last two-and-a-half years, there was little evidence of new infrastructure creation or welfare expansion. The HYDRAA initiative has created fear, he said impacting all the sectors in Hyderabad. Announcing a digital membership drive, KTR said the BRS would launch a dedicated mobile application to streamline enrolment.
Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekhar Reddy was also present.
