(PTI file photo) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday approved development projects worth Rs 4,901.65 crore and cleared plans to develop 13 key routes connecting major religious sites across the Devipatan and Basti divisions. During a review meeting in Gonda, the chief minister assessed proposals submitted by public representatives from 33 Assembly constituencies and directed officials to improve connectivity to Maa Pateshwari Shaktipeeth and other prominent pilgrimage centres.

The review meeting was attended by Principal Secretary (PWD) Ajay Chauhan, Devipatan Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal, Basti Divisional Commissioner Akhilesh Singh, Gonda District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal, PWD Chief Engineer Akhilesh Diwakar, and several public representatives. 13 Key Religious Connectivity Routes Approved The approved routes will link important religious destinations, including Maa Pateshwari Devi Shaktipeeth, the Swaminarayan Temple in Devipatan Division, and Makhoda Dham in Basti. Adityanath reviewed Public Works Department projects in Gonda, Balrampur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Basti, Siddharth Nagar and Sant Kabir Nagar districts, with discussions focusing on road connectivity, bridge construction, flyovers, and the strengthening of rural infrastructure. The chief minister also approved 810 works under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana at a cost of Rs 1,472.83 crore.

The scheme will see the construction of 1,602 kilometres of rural roads, while more than 50 existing roads will be widened and repaired. Adityanath also reviewed the progress of the state’s Pothole-Free Campaign and directed officials to complete all pending projects within the stipulated timelines. In addition, Adityanath approved the development of two state highways, 81 minor bridges, seven major bridges, bypass roads, overbridges and connectivity projects for industrial areas. He also cleared the construction of 12 helipads in rural areas and instructed MPs and MLAs to jointly identify local development priorities and prepare action plans at the earliest.
