The district administration has stepped up arrangements for the Kharif 2026 season to ensure the timely availability of quality seeds and subsidised fertilisers to the farmers, said District Collector Dr. A. Siri on Friday (June 19, 2026). She was speaking after the distribution of red-gram seeds under the Atmanirbhar Mission, subsidised groundnut seeds, and urea to the farmers at Tuggali mandal headquarters.
The Collector said adequate stocks of agricultural inputs had been positioned to meet seasonal demand. “Tuggali mandal alone has 244.8 metric tonnes of urea in stock, with distribution being carried out through the government portal and e-pass machines to ensure transparency and accountability.
A bag of urea costs ₹1,457, but the government is providing a subsidy of ₹1,190, enabling farmers to purchase it for ₹266.50,” she said. The Collector stated that red gram seeds were available under the Atmanirbhar Mission and were being supplied free of cost to farmers who adopt intercropping.
“We are ready with 1,752 quintals of groundnut seeds for distribution at a 40% subsidy,” the Collector said.
