The Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday (June 19, 2026) filed a chargesheet against Shaik Mansoor alias Mohammed Ali alias Vijaykumar, who was arrested by the agency at Rayachoti in Annamayya district in December 2025. According to the NIA, Mohammed Ali is a close aide and co-conspirator of Shaik Amanulla alias Abubakar Siddique, against whom the agency had filed a chargesheet earlier. The NIA had chargesheeted Shaik Amanulla in February 2026.
Explosives and other incriminating material were recovered from Shaik Amanulla’s house, the NIA said. Three accused, including Shaik Amanulla, have been arrested in the case so far. At the time of his arrest, Mohammed Ali was found living under a false identity, having absconded from Tamil Nadu in a 1999 bomb blast case. He had been living under the fake name Shaik Mansoor in Rayachoti town, using fraudulently obtained government identity papers.
According to the NIA chargesheet, Mohammed Ali had been radicalised, recruited and trained in making bombs by Shaik Amanulla. Mohammed Ali had helped Shaik Amanulla transport explosives to a hideout in Rayachoti. “The two men had conspired to undertake targeted killings of leaders of a particular community to create terror among the people, and to further their nefarious agenda to establish shariya law in India,” the NIA said.
The NIA, which had taken over the case from the Andhra Pradesh police, is continuing its probe. In the chargesheet filed before the NIA Special Court, Vijayawada, Shaik Mansoor has been named under relevant sections of the UA(P) Act, 1967, and the BNS, 2023.
