The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has stepped up regulatory action against several food business operators (FBO), including Param Dairy Limited, Bikanervala, and multiple packaged food and supplement brands, for alleged violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The notices have been issued over concerns related to misleading branding, unverified health and nutritional claims, improper labelling, and hygiene-related complaints, all of which are seen as potential risks to consumer safety and transparency in the food sector.
Read Full Story Among the products flagged by the authority are Incipro Gold Powder Vanilla and Korean Ginseng supplements, which reportedly carried health and performance enhancement claims that were not in compliance with FSSAI regulations. Similarly, products such as Buransh Squash, Alkaline Nutrient Water, and Alphonso Mango Fruit Drink have been cited for allegedly misleading labelling, unapproved claims, and incomplete mandatory disclosures.
In a separate action, Param Dairy Limited has been asked to submit clarifications following consumer allegations of fungal contamination in dairy products supplied through catering channels. Meanwhile, Bikanervala has also been served a notice after complaints raised concerns regarding hygiene standards in its food preparation and service areas. FSSAI has directed all concerned food business operators to take immediate corrective measures and ensure strict compliance with labelling norms, approved claims, and hygiene standards.
The regulator’s actions underscore its ongoing effort to strengthen consumer protection, improve transparency, and enforce accountability across India’s food industry. Ends
