RIL AGM 2026: Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on Friday expressed confidence that India will emerge stronger from ongoing global volatility and play the role of a “balancer, promoter of peace, and friend to all" in an increasingly multipolar world. While addressing shareholders at Reliance Industries’ 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM), the RIL Chariman said that the past six years had been marked by unprecedented uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, wars, energy market disruptions, supply chain fragmentation and commodity price fluctuations. “Tough times never last. Tough nations do. And India is among the most resilient nations in the world," Ambani said, adding that India had successfully navigated recent global challenges with unity, confidence and strong leadership.

I can see India emerging much stronger in the fast-changing, multipolar world. India will play the role of a balancer, a promoter of peace, and a friend to all. This is not merely my hope; it is my confidence and my conviction," he said. The RIL MD also called for accelerating India’s self-reliance efforts in critical technologies and resources and said, “The most important lesson for India from these volatile times is that we must intensify and speed up our efforts to make our country ‘Atmanirbhar’ in critical resources and technologies.
Maximum energy self-sufficiency and AI self-sufficiency must become our national missions. The success of these missions is critical to the success of Viksit Bharat." He also emphasised that India should not be a mere consumer of AI created elsewhere, it must become a creator, adopter and global leader in AI Highlighting Reliance’s role in these sectors, Ambani said that the company is investing heavily in innovation, research and development to build capabilities in deep technology and advanced manufacturing. He also pointed to the growing innovation strength of Jio Platforms, noting that the company had climbed from 340th to 20th position globally in patent innovation velocity rankings published by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), making it the only Indian company among the top 20. Ambani also congratulated Jio’s scientists, engineers and innovators, saying their achievements had made India proud.
